Our Kumu
ALoha and Welcome!
Mālamapōki’i strives to provide a Hawaiian value based early childhood educational experience. Our culturally infused program integrates curriculum aligned with Hawaiʻi Early Learning Developmental Standards (HELDS). Our kumu are experience educators with strong ties to the Waimea community who are dedicated to creating a program rich in activities that address the cultural, social-emotional, language, literacy, cognitive and physical develop of each keiki in our care. We recognize that the keiki’s first and most important learning occurs in the context of the family. It is essential, therefore, that families are involved in their keiki’s preschool experience. Through monthly meetings we strive to provide the supports and resources needed for parents to help their children develop optimally.
